I like it!

I honestly have no idea what the crossover series is, but the sci-fi aspect really grabs my attention (that was one of the major points of appeal for Backwards Compatible. BTW, saw your note about BC, and while I'm disappointed that there will not be any updates soon, I understand about the "blockage." Good luck figuring that out!) In the meantime, hopefully you'll be able to let us all in on what happens next in THIS story rather soon. Welcome back and happy writing!

Well it's good to hear from you again. This look like it has possibilities. I'm interested to see where it goes. Thanks for writing. W.

Glad to see you are still writing Ruskbyte. Interesting beginning, with what looks to be a story well worth reading. Going to pick up The I. M. Banks book to talk a look at - thanks for the tip.

BRILLIANT! It's good to know that you're still alive and writing. Looking forward to more, and happy new year!

I really like the start that you've provided here. Can't really comment on much, since this seems to be more of a prologue than an actual chapter. Regardless, I await future chapters in this crossover world that you've created. One other thing. It is good to see you posting your writing again.

I'm not familiar with the Culture, but this could be a very interesting story. Any ammount of intelligence should blow away the Wizarding world.

Looking forward to more. Thanks for returning to writing!

After reading Backwards Compatible some time ago, I wondered (and hoped) if you'd use the Culture Novels as a basis for another crossover, I'm delighted that you have. I'll be watching this with great interest and if it's half as good as the work you've already done it will be well worth it/

Keep up the great work.

Welcome back.

I am definitely intrigued. I am not familiar with the Culture novels, but I intend to be in the near future. It certainly seems like a series that would hold my attention.

It will be very interesting to see how the Culture deals with learning that magic does indeed exist, and how Harry deals with coming back to lowly Earth after being a part of such an incredibly advanced civilization. This will get very entertaining very quickly.

Another thing, it would be extra hilarious if Harry was raised around one of the stranger eccentric minds, like say Gray Area wold be hilarious, after that Snape would be a walk in the park.

lol, wonder how the culture will handle this particular outside context problem! ;) Hopefully they fare better then they did in Excession ;)

Harry Potter, raised by the Culture. The Culture, aka the people who got Communism (okay, Socialism) to work?!?!? The Culture, who's tech-base makes Star Trek : The Next Generation look like Europe during the Dark Ages!?!

Oh my.

And, let's not forget that The Culture's Special Circumstances - aka first contact specialists, spies, saboteurs, elite Trouble Shooters, ect.. - is interested in events that possible involved baby Harry.

Talk about a muggle-raised Harry with a different point of view!

Novice.

BTW, is going to be a "no ship" story, or you just haven't decided on who Harry's going to be with?

Great start to your story. :)

Heya Ruskybyte! It's nice to hear from you again.

Interestingly this seems to be a combination of your 'Backwards Compatible' and sme of the 'Jedi-Potter' stories. I do not recognize the characters you've introduced so please forgive me if i a in error. Your story begins with a simple premise, and knowing your style of writing, I think I ca expect a fine tale.

I have no idea what you're crossing HP with here, but it was fun and interesting nonetheless. Also, it's really good to see that you're back. Happy New Year, and happy writing!
