I like this, and its got me hooked despite not even knowing the cross (I'm on my way to look it up, never fear).

The status you give for BC doesn't really surprise me; the one time so far that I've tried my hand at a chaptered fic instead of the one-shots I normally favor I was nearly three years between updates - and on the last two chapters no less.

Interesting start. I don't recognize the non-Harry Potter characters. Are they original characters, or from an established fiction?
